Profhilo: hyaluronic acid for skin firmness and hydration, without volume
Profhilo (hyaluronic acid) is a high-concentration hyaluronic acid injectable with a fluid consistency that spreads through the skin after being applied at a few points. Instead of filling, it deeply hydrates and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, improving the firmness, elasticity and glow of the skin of the face, neck, décolletage and hands, without changing volume. At Yamagata Dermatologia, in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, it is applied by dermatologists after a medical evaluation.

- About 1 hour
- Injection points
- 5 on each side of the face
- Recovery
- Small bumps for a few hours
- Volume
- Does not change facial volume
How it works
Profhilo is produced by a thermal process that combines hyaluronic acid molecules of different sizes, without the chemical cross-linking agents used in regular fillers. The result is a very concentrated yet fluid gel, which spreads through the layers of the skin from each injection point.
In the skin, the product attracts and retains water and stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin. This is why its action is called bioremodeling: the skin becomes more hydrated, firm and elastic, with no change in the volume or features of the face.
On the face, the application follows the BAP (bio aesthetic points) technique, with five points on each side, chosen so that the product spreads evenly across the face.

What a session is like
After the skin is cleaned, the doctor applies the product with a fine needle at the defined points, in a few minutes per area. Anesthesia is usually not needed, and a numbing cream can be used for added comfort.
Recovery
Right after the application, small bumps appear at the points and disappear within a few hours. There may be a small bruise. You can return to your activities on the same day.
Sessions and results
Hydration is noticed in the first weeks, and the improvement in firmness and elasticity develops over one to two months. The number of sessions and the interval between them depend on the dermatologist's individual evaluation and on each patient's clinical concern. The response varies from person to person.
Contraindications
Profhilo is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding, over infections or active inflammation in the area, or for people allergic to hyaluronic acid. Active autoimmune diseases require evaluation.
At the evaluation, the dermatologist reviews your health history, current medications and previous procedures to confirm the indication.
All procedures are recommended and performed after an individual medical evaluation. Results vary from person to person.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Is Profhilo (hyaluronic acid) a filler?
No. Although it is made of hyaluronic acid, Profhilo is not intended to add volume. It spreads through the skin, hydrates and stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving skin firmness and quality.
What is the difference between Profhilo (hyaluronic acid) and skinboosters?
Both improve skin quality with hyaluronic acid. Profhilo has a higher concentration and is applied at a few points, from which it spreads, focusing on firmness and elasticity. Skinboosters are applied as microdroplets at many points, focusing mainly on hydration and glow.
When do the results show?
The skin becomes more hydrated in the first weeks, and the improvement in firmness and elasticity develops over one to two months, as collagen is produced.
Does it hurt?
There are only a few injections, done with a fine needle, with mild discomfort. Small bumps form at the injection points and disappear within a few hours.
