Capellux®: LED therapy for hair loss
Capellux® is an LED helmet used in hair LED therapy, also called photobiomodulation. LED light, at specific wavelengths, stimulates follicle activity and scalp circulation and is used as a complement in the treatment of hair loss, with no needles, no pain and no downtime. At Yamagata Dermatologia, in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, it is indicated by dermatologists after a medical evaluation.

How it works
LED light, at the wavelengths used in hair therapy, is absorbed by follicle cells and stimulates cellular energy production and local circulation. This effect, called photobiomodulation, favors the growth phase of the hair and reduces hair loss.
Capellux® is a helmet with LEDs distributed across its whole surface, which allows the scalp to be treated evenly, with no needles and no significant heat.

What a session is like
The patient sits with the helmet positioned over the head for the time defined for the session. The application is painless and requires no preparation. A session lasts about 1 hour.
Recovery
There is no recovery: you can return to your activities right after the session.
Sessions and results
The number of sessions and the interval between them depend on the dermatologist's individual evaluation and on each patient's clinical concern. The improvement is gradual and depends on the combination with medical treatment.
Contraindications
Hair LED therapy is not recommended for people with diseases that cause light sensitivity, for those taking photosensitizing medications, or over suspicious lesions on the scalp, which must be evaluated first. Pregnancy requires evaluation.
At the evaluation, the dermatologist reviews your health history, current medications and previous procedures to confirm the indication.
All procedures are recommended and performed after an individual medical evaluation. Results vary from person to person.
