Dermatological deep facial cleansing: face and back
Dermatological facial cleansing is a deep-cleansing procedure that removes blackheads, impurities and excess oil from the face and back. It is done with technique and products chosen for each skin type, including acne-prone or sensitive skin, and can be combined with a diamond peel and LED. At Yamagata Dermatologia, in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, it is indicated after a dermatological evaluation.

- Face, back, or face and back
- Recovery
- Mild redness for a few hours
- Combinations
- Diamond peel and LED
How it works
The skin produces oil and renews its surface cells continuously. When this material builds up in the pores, blackheads (open comedones) and whiteheads (closed comedones) form, leaving the skin with an uneven texture and favoring acne.
Facial cleansing removes this buildup in stages: cleansing, exfoliation, softening of the skin with specific products, manual extraction of blackheads, and a finish with calming products and sunscreen. The technique and products are chosen according to the skin type, and the procedure can be combined with a diamond peel, for a more even exfoliation, and with LED, which has a calming effect.

What a session is like
The skin is cleansed and exfoliated and receives products that soften the blackheads. Extraction is then performed, with suitable technique and materials. At the end, a calming mask or LED, moisturizer and sunscreen are applied. A session lasts about 1 hour.
Recovery
The skin may be red for a few hours. You can return to your activities on the same day.
Sessions and results
The skin is cleaner and more even right after the session. The number of sessions and the interval between them depend on the dermatologist's individual evaluation and on each patient's clinical concern.
Contraindications
Facial cleansing is not recommended over intense inflammatory acne, wounds, infections or active herpes, over sunburned or irritated skin, or during rosacea flares. Use of isotretinoin and acids requires evaluation, because the skin is more sensitive.
At the evaluation, the dermatologist reviews your health history, current medications and previous procedures to confirm the indication.
All procedures are recommended and performed after an individual medical evaluation. Results vary from person to person.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a dermatological facial cleansing and one done at a beauty salon?
At the clinic, facial cleansing is indicated and supported by a dermatological evaluation, with technique and products chosen according to the skin type and existing conditions, such as acne, rosacea or sensitivity.
Can people with acne have a facial cleansing?
Yes, as a complement to medical treatment, to remove blackheads and reduce oiliness. Inflamed, painful lesions should not be squeezed, and during phases of intense inflammatory acne, medical treatment comes first.
Will my skin be red afterwards?
It may be slightly red for a few hours, especially where blackheads were extracted. LED, when combined, helps calm the skin at the end.
